Common questions

What's the wireless range?

Up to 50 m (164 ft) between RF timers and displays in clear conditions. Metal structures and light fixtures can shorten it — reposition the display if needed.

Can I use it outdoors, in the rain?

Yes — rated −10 °C to +40 °C. Not waterproof, but works fine in rain sealed inside a clear zip-style bag.

What batteries do I need?

Standard 9 V alkalines in everything. Skip rechargeables for important events; the units warn you when a battery runs low.

Will it mount on my tripods?

Yes — beams and displays take standard ¼"-20 tripod mounts, so any camera or light stand works.

What's your return policy?

30 days. Unopened and unused, it's a full refund and you cover return shipping. Opened or used units carry a 15% restocking fee, because we can't sell them as new. Anything that fails in the first year is warranty, not a return — we repair or replace it and pay shipping both ways.

Which timer do I need?

The Speed-Timer 3000 is the shot timer — it listens for gunfire and records splits. The Sport-Timer 3000 is the event controller — it runs a live clock and works with IR beams and scoreboards. If you're timing shooters, it's the Speed-Timer; if you're timing runners, riders or dogs, it's the Sport-Timer.

Do I need the RF model?

Only if you want a wireless scoreboard or a base station. RF and non-RF units are the same housing and the same accuracy — the RF module just lets the timer talk to a display.
